The Fire Department open house from 1-3 on Sunday give the community an opportunity to inspect the Fire Department's new vehicles as well as take in important fire safety lessons.

Scully is a name in Manchester nearly synonymous with the Fire Department, and as of last month, Bill Scully was once again hired as the Manchester Township Fire Chief.

Scully stated, “I have been a member of the Manchester Township Fire Department for 32 years, I was the Fire Chief from 1999 through 2014. I stepped down from the Fire Chief’s position to spend more time with my family. At the time, both of our kids were in high school, and both were involved in sports, that I was missing too much of.”

Mike Riesterer was hired as fire chief in 2014. He decided to pursue retirement further, and stepped down from the chief’s position.

Scully, who now has one child in high school and one in college, was hired again as Fire Chief last month.
