Manchester Community Schools announced last week that the Manchester High School Girls Basketball team was named the second to the top of Class C teams for Academic All-State Honors from the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. The team averaged a GPA of 3.892, coming in lower than only Pewamo-Westphalia, a school located northwest of Lansing, whose team’s GPA averaged 3.945. Grand Rapids Covenant Christian ranked third with an average GPA of 3.873.

No other local teams placed in the top ten, but Clinton, Grass Lake and Michigan Center all received honorable mention.
