MAYS holds opening day festivities
Manchester Area Youth Sports hosted “Opening Day” at Kirk Park on April 29. Despite cold temperatures and looming clouds, nothing could dampen the spirits of the young players who gathered with their teammates to be introduced to the community as they ran the bases.
Michelle Dettling opened the ceremony with the Star-Spangled Banner, while the Girl Scouts served as color guards. Joanne Kemner acted as master of ceremonies. Hot dogs and beverages were served, thanks to the Manchester Men’s Club and Manchester Market. And a great day was had by all.
The National Anthem was sung by Michelle Dettling.
