On October 1st, 70 Manchester residents participated in the CROP Hunger Walk which began at the Manchester United Methodist Church and raised more than $2,400. “The weather was great and more dogs than ever participated to support good causes!” exclaimed participant Lon Nordeen. A Manchester CROP Walk has been held every year since 1995 and including this year’s total, local contributors have raised nearly $126,500!

Walkers raised the money to help feed people right here in our community as well as around the world. Proceeds will go locally to the Community Resource Center, Manchester Family Services, and Manchester Area Senior Citizens Council. Church World Service, the organization which sponsors CROP Hunger Walk, is using money raised in previous walks to help people in Texas and Florida impacted by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
