Because of renovations planned for the Borek-Jennings Legacy Event Center that will make it impossible to hold Kiwanis’ Crazy Cash there, organizers searched for local venue large enough to hold it. Failing to find one, they nearly made the decision to not hold Crazy Cash this year. But last week they received the news that Borek-Jennings has delayed planned renovations in their building until after March and has given organizers the “go ahead” for Saturday March 3, 2018–which means Crazy Cash will happen for at least one more year!

The popular Crazy Cash Night is a reverse raffle, where the last number drawn wins the biggest prize. It includes a catered dinner, side-games and lots of fun. Doors will open at 5 pm; dinner will be served at 6 pm; and the first ball in the reverse raffle will be drawn at 7 pm. Tickets to the Crazy Cash event will go on sale December 1. They will be available at Ash Auto, Andrews Family Chiropractic, and at the Community Resource Center. Tickets are also available from members of the Kiwanis Club and the Manchester Community Schools Foundation. Tickets purchased on or before December 31 will include a $50 voucher, good for the purchase of side board tickets the night of the event. Tickets purchased on or before February 14, 2018 will be eligible for the Early Bird Drawing on March 3, 2018.

The proceeds from this huge fund-raiser benefit a variety of different organizations each year. Over the past 19 years, Crazy Cash has raised over a quarter million dollars for the community in the form of grants and scholarships. Last year funds went to The Manchester Area Historical Society, the Manchester Community Resource Center, the Manchester Early Childhood Center, Manchester Farmers Market, Manchester High School Media Center, Manchester Lions Club, MHS Science program, and the MHS Kiwanis Key Club Scholarship.

This year, Kiwanis is partnering with the Manchester Community School Foundation. Others who want to share in the proceeds should complete an application and send it to Kiwanis P.O. Box 833 no later than Thursday, November 30th. Applications stamped after that date will not be considered. Applications are available from Kiwanis members as well as at the Community Resource Center. Email Anita Herman at amherman46@gmail.com to request an electronic version of the application.  Questions? Call Anita at 734-945-5663
