Historical Society will host “Show and Tell” Night
by Ray Berg
Do you own an interesting, strange and/or historic artifact that you want to share with others? Do you want to know the purpose or function of something that’s been in your house forever, but you have no clue what it’s for? Or you just want to show that neat thing you bought at a local flea market?
Then mark your calendar for 7 pm, Thursday, March 8, when the Manchester Area Historical Society will host its annual “Show and Tell” event at the Kingsley-Jenter House, 302 E. Main. Every year we invite members and guests to bring something they want to know more about, or something they want to show everyone, that has some possible or real connection to Manchester’s past. Jim Wilson of the MAHS will lead the program, and we invite everyone to bring along something. We’ll begin the evening with a brief business meeting, and a discussion of upcoming events. We’ve received several ideas from our members and guests for future programs, and we’ll ask your input on which ones appeal the most to you. And we’ll have some nice refreshments to socialize with after the program.
Sesquicentennial merchandise will also be available for purchase in case you missed getting some last summer, as well as our 170 page, full color Sesquicentennial Commemorative Book, priced at $20 cash or check to “MAHS”.
Our program last month on how to research the history of your Manchester home was videotaped, and is available on YouTube. Just search “MAHSMI” in You Tube, and you will see links to our previous taped programs.
Please consider joining us at this next meeting!
