On Saturday February 24, 2018 The Wilderness Connection held its third annual Wild Game Dinner. The Wildness Connection is a group of Christian volunteers with the motto, “Enjoying creation through hunting, camping, fishing and hiking.” Once a year they come together to organize a fund raising event that includes a wild game dinner.

This year’s event was held at the Sharon United Methodist Church Hall. A sellout crowd of 120 people attended. The main speaker this year was Alvin Sitkiewicz  the host of TV’s Michigan Gone Wild. Also speaking was Drew Youngdyke, outdoor enthusiast, writer, Train-to-Hunt athlete and a member of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers.

The Wild Game Dinner is a fund-raiser. The recipient of the $2,500 raised at this year’s event was Michigan Operation Freedom Outdoors. Their mission is to provide improved outdoor recreation opportunities for disabled veterans and individuals with health challenges.
