On Friday, March 30, 2018, Teri Aiuto announced her candidacy for State Representative in Michigan’s 52nd District at the Washtenaw County Farm Council fairgrounds. The 52nd District includes Chelsea, Dexter, Saline, Manchester Village, and the townships of Salem, Northfield, Webster, Dexter, Lyndon, Sylvan, Lima, Scio, Sharon, Freedom, Lodi, Manchester, Bridgewater and Saline and Ward 5, Precinct 8 of Ann Arbor. Aiuto will be running as a Republican.

Aiuto believes that voters want solutions that work, not higher taxes. She asserts that “the traditional platforms of the major parties have evolved over the years to the point that many voters say they no longer identify with either party and they vote strictly on the issues.” She is committed to producing results which give voters in the 52nd district a voice on the issues that matter most to them. Her priorities include budgeting to fix our roads. She also pledges to promote and support legislation to decrease auto insurance rates, protect the rights of citizens by supporting the first and second amendments, enhance our children’s education in a safe environment, and is pro-life.

Teri Aiuto is a licensed real estate broker and owner of Manchester Real Estate, LLC. She is the co-founder of T&N Service, a lawn, landscape and snow removal business. Aiuto previously owned and operated Tropical Effects Tanning Salon and the real estate property management company, East Austin Ventures, LLC. Aiuto eagerly consulted and mentored other individuals wanting to start up their own businesses.

Aiuto was elected Clerk for Sharon Township from 1996-2012. She also served as Secretary on the Sharon Township Zoning Board for eighteen years.

Her volunteer activities include working with youth as a Washtenaw County 4-H leader, as lead coordinator for an ecumenical Vacation Bible school in Manchester, as a junior and senior high school equestrian coach, and as a PTO member for Manchester Co-Op Preschool. She chaired the finance council of St. Mary’s Church in Manchester and is a finance council member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal parish.

Aiuto and her two sons reside in Sharon Township along with their three horses, dog and cat. Teri graduated from Manchester High School, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University.
