52nd Annual Manchester River Raisin Canoe and Kayak Race
Manchester Kiwanis is preparing for its 52nd Annual River Raisin Canoe-Kayak Race! Coming up on Sunday, May 20th, the 3.5 mile race will start at noon at Fellows Bridge on Sharon Valley Road (2 miles west of M-52, 1 mile east of Sharon Hollow Road) and ends at the Mill Pond in downtown Manchester. One canoe is launched each minute. The course takes between 30 and 90 minutes. Same day registration begins at 10 am at the starting line. Applications for advance registration are available on the Facebook page. The cost is $15 per participant. There are 10 classes you can enter in including Teen Canoe, Women Canoe, Men Canoe, Man & Woman Canoe, Adult (18+) & Child (5-12) Canoe, Corporate Challenge Canoe, Single Canoe, Competition Canoe, Single Male Kayak, Single Female Kayak. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for all ten classes. There is also a traveling trophy for the Corporate Challenge class. There will also be a Sprint Race in the Mill Pond near the finish line with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards.
