Nicholas Steinmetz offered Manchester Community Schools superintendent position

The Manchester Community Schools Board of Education met last Tuesday with the three applicants who had been brought back for the second round of interviews. After a day of tours, interviews, and deliberation, the board decided on Nicholas Steinmetz as its choice for the superintendent position. Steinmetz is currently assistant superintendent at Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District in the Upper Peninsula. Before serving as assistant superintendent, Steinmetz served as the Principal for the Ironwood Area Schools for two years and an Elementary teacher for the Berkley School District for three years. Steinmetz has a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University in Elementary Ed and a master’s degree from Michigan State University in K-12 Education Administration. He is married and has three young children.
