Join the Bike to School group, including the huge number of walkers, on Wednesday!

As the weather improves, the number of bicycles joining the Walk to School program is growing, too! This Wednesday, May 9, is National Bike to School Day.

Klager teacher and Walk to School coordinator Kathy O’Mara is looking forward to a record-breaking participation this week! The weather is predicted to be great, and the enthusiasm is building among the participants. Last week’s walkers totaled 70 on Wednesday and 50 on Monday and Friday, with new walkers joining each day.

You can participate no matter what “walk” of life you’re in! Working folks as well as retirees are joining the fun. Village Council members, School Board members, Sheriff deputies, teachers, staff, parents, and grandparents are all part of this great program that is helping to make our community healthier. And a brisk walk up the hill is a great way to start any day!

Be a part of something great in Manchester–meet up at Wurster Park or the rock at Riverside Intermediate (former middle school) at 7:30 am on Wednesday, or at Chi-Bro Park at 7:45 am. You’ll find a great crowd of people to walk along with you.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
