WCSO: Emails requesting money not from Sheriff Department

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has received an increase of computer scams involving law enforcement. These scams use the name of a Washtenaw County Deputy as the originator of an email requesting money from the receiver to prevent arrest warrants being issued for the receiver of the email. These scams are alarming to say the least, but are NOT from Washtenaw County Sheriff personnel. Please verify the identity of the sender and veracity of the information prior to providing your personal and/or financial information, by contacting our Washtenaw Metro Dispatch Team at (734) 994-2911.
