Dodworth Duo performing at Blacksmith Shop concert
This Saturday, May 26 at 7:30pm Dodworth Duo will present American Favorites at the last Riverfolk Blacksmith Shop concert of the season. The concert takes place in Manchester’s historic Blacksmith shop located at 324 E. Main Street and will feature a pie to sample donated by the local bakers of Why Not Pie? Tickets cost $15 and are available on Eventbrite or at the door until sold out.
The Dodworth Duo performs music of the 19th Century, accompanied by Ted on guitar, banjo, harmonica, fife, etc. The Duo sings classic American songs such as “Clementine,” working songs like “Erie Canal,” and cowboy tunes like “Red River Valley.” In addition to being delightfully entertaining, the Dodworth Duo also educates and gives audiences a taste of American music of the past.
Elizabeth Mitchell, Soprano, is a versatile performer whose repertoire ranges from opera to cabaretto art song. Professionally, she has performed throughout the United States with Ohio Light Opera, Michigan Opera Theater, Utah Opera, Arbor Opera Theater, Opera MODO, Friends of the Opera of Michigan, Comic Opera Guild, and the Dodworth Saxhorn Band. Ms. Mitchell teaches private voice and piano lessons and is Gallery Manager at Pierre Paul Design in Ann Arbor.
As The Stroller Extraordinaire (Your Walking Jukebox), Ted Badgerow is frequently engaged for festivals, weddings, parties, funerals, hayrides, Santa dinners, graduations, farmers’ markets, running events, and reunions. He plays classical and acoustic guitars, banjo, fife, flute, harmonicas, and pennywhistle. Ted has memorized a repertory of 400+ songs ranging from Victorian, Civil War, Holiday, and Irish music through Gershwin, the Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel.
