Cub Scouts hold Annual Rank Advancement Ceremony
On Saturday, June 2nd, 23 Cub Scouts from Pack 421 walked across a crossover bridge where each Scout earned a new rank during their annual Rank Advancement Ceremony. The ceremony took place at Sharon United Methodist Church this year and was followed by a family camp out.
Cub Scout leader Angie Flint explained the process. “During the ceremony, each scout starts at one end of the bridge as their current rank. The Scout then walks across the bridge to where their parents are waiting with their new rank colors. Their family member then removes their previous rank colors and provides their Scout with their new rank which will be worn for the upcoming school year. These Cub Scouts range in age from Kindergarten to fourth grade and have accomplished all sorts of different adventures throughout the year! These adventures range from geocaching treasure hunts, Scouting for Food, Derby Car and Raingutter Regatta Races, hikes, camp outs, fishing trips, service projects, and so much more!”
After the Rank Advancement Ceremony, the Cub Scouts and their family members participated in a family camp out together.
Flint continued, “Pack 421 would like to thank Sharon United Methodist Church for their support throughout the year. They graciously offered their Fellowship Hall for our Rank Advancement Ceremony, allowed us to camp on their grounds, and provided our Scouts and family with breakfast in the morning! Pack 421 would also like to thank Pack 472 from Napoleon, which is chartered by the Brooklyn Sportsman Club, for allowing our Pack to use their beautiful bridge this year for our ceremony!”
