The border line between Consumers Energy and DTE Energy service areas runs right through the Manchester area, with Consumers to the west and DTE to the east. The Manchester Community Resource Center works with both companies to provide opportunities and information to Manchester area residents who need help with their energy bills.

During Customer Assistance Days, DTE Energy partners with local agencies and organizations to provide case management solutions, energy efficiency education, and utility payment assistance to customers in need throughout the year. The closest event to Manchester will be held at Washtenaw Community College located at 4800 East Huron River Drive in Ann Arbor on June 8th from 9 am to 4 pm. You must register for a time slot to attend. To register, visit https://thaw customerappointments.as.me/THAWcads.

Onsite services will include help with applying for energy assistance, energy efficiency and education—tips to help you reduce your energy bills, and access to various human services agencies and more. Attendees must bring most recent DTE Energy bill, valid Michigan ID for all household members over the age of 18 (such as a driver’s license, state ID, passport, etc.), Social Security cards for all household members regardless of age, proof of income for the last 60 days (eight weekly pay stubs, four bi-weekly pay stubs or two monthly pay stubs), and 2018 Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Statement. Income requirements do apply. Maximum monthly total household income is 150% poverty level or $1,508 for 1, $2,030 for 2, $2,553 for 3, $3,075 for 4, $3,598 for 5, $4,120 for 6, $4,643 for 7, and $5,165 for 8.
