Letter to the Editor

June 1, 2018

At approximately 3:30 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2018 the temperature outside was 88 degrees. I drove through the parking lot of the Manchester Market to dispose of my recyclables. As I drove through I witnessed a family leaving their vehicle to go in and shop, sadly to say, leaving behind their small barking dog inside their car with the windows closed to an opening of only two inches. After getting rid of my recyclables I parked my car close to the entrance of the store so I could go in and make a citizen complaint to the manager. Thankfully, the family came out in about fifteen minutes.

This is not acceptable. Soon a final bill will be signed in Lansing stating that if a person is caught leaving an animal inside a vehicle without proper ventilation they would receive a stiff fine and prison time.

Sincerely,
