More than 60 local scholarships awarded to Class of 2018
Manchester High School is fortunate to have a generous community sponsoring a variety of local scholarships. This year, 62 graduating seniors from the Class of 2018 were recipients of a local scholarship. (Some students received multiple awards.)
The Austin Fuller Memorial Scholarship was presented to Hannah McCaffrey; recipients of the Barry and Peggy Allen Vocational Scholarships were Adam Edwards, Kurtis Blumenauer, and Ryan Fields. Ryan Fields also received the Cameron LaDouceur Memorial Scholarship, while the Faith Vlcek Wrestling Scholarship was awarded to Reese Fry. The Helena M. Grossman Scholarship was presented to Noah Radcliff; Jesse Tedder earned the Kids R.O.C.K. Scholarship.
The Knights of Columbus Scholarships went to Claudia Walz, Dominic Bargardi; while the Kiwanis Club Scholarship winners were William Zimmer, Alyssa Davila, and Tyler Elliott. Luther and Barbara Schaible generously sponsor two scholarships: an Agricultural Scholarship, which was awarded to Claudia Walz, and a Health Science Scholarship, which went to Alexander Clark.
The Lions Club made scholarship awards to Rylee Cole, Taylor Ebersberger, and Lauryn Finley; the Manchester American Legion Scholarship was presented to Ryan Fields and Adam Edwards. The Manchester Athletic Boosters Scholarship recipients were Rylee Cole, Paul Derheim, Charles Depp, Jason Riske, Noah Steele, and John Zigila. In addition, the Manchester Athletic Boosters Josh McCalla Memorial Scholarship was presented to Paul Derheim.
Manchester Community Scholarships were presented to Duncan VanVuuren, Derek Brickley, Emily Penberthy, Samantha Kominars, and Cozette Cecconie. Rylee Cole and Alexander Clark received the Manchester Education Support Personnel Association Scholarship. Manchester High School Alumni Scholarships were awarded to Alexander Clark, Paul Derheim, Noah Steele, Stefan Hofmann , Sirona Brower, Claudia Walz, Lauren Schriber, Zachary Smith, Ava Sharrow-Ducsay, Claudia Pierce, Skylyr Zink, Hope Schook, and Samantha Kominars.
Valedictorian Scholarship, awarded by the Manchester High School Alumni Association, in memory of Marian Voegeding, was earned by Derek Brickley. The Salutatorian Scholarship, presented by the Manchester Civic Club, was earned by Claudia Pierce. Sirona Brower was presented with the Lucille Williams Memorial Scholarship; the Manchester Manor scholarship was earned by John Zigila.
The Manchester Wrestling Club Scholarship went to Reese Fry. Recipients of the Mary Nosbisch Memorial Scholarship included Erin Walkowe, Taylor Ebersberger, Dominic Bargardi, and Alyssa Davila. Ryan Fields was presented with the R. D. Kleinschmidt, Inc. Scholarship, and the Robert J. & Kathleen A. Hagerman Scholarship went to Dominic Bargardi.
The Stand Up Spirit Memorial Scholarship recipients were Hope Schook and Skylyr Zink; the Tower Scholarship was awarded to Claudia Pierce. The Manchester Community Schools Foundation Student of the Month scholarship was presented to Hope Schook.
Donors to the various scholarships included: Manchester High School Student Council, Manchester Eye Care Center, Manchester Manor, Preceptor Gamma Theta, Beta Sigma Phi, Dr. Raymond Howe, Twentieth Century Club, Class of 2018 and Manchester Education Association.
The students, staff, and administration of Manchester High School wish to thank those who made it possible to offer these local scholarships to the Class of 2018. We appreciate the generosity of the Manchester community.
