The Art Kettle, Manchester’s new Community Cultural Center and Artist Residency located at 121 West Main Street, has put out a call for entries from artists and makers with ties to Manchester for its opening show, Manchester Ties.

Owner Laura Earle explained, “As you may have noticed, there’s been a great deal of activity at the corner of Washington and Main. Dozens of generous volunteers have been working away to prepare the house for the opening of the Art Kettle –– a home grown art center and residency program right here in Manchester!

“Well, all that scrubbing and scraping is for you.

“Because, the Art Kettle is a place for you … to show your work, connect with other artists, to teach, to learn, to be inspired, and have some fun!”

Earle is very pleased to extend this invitation to you to show a piece or two of your work in the first Art Kettle event: Manchester Ties – Celebrating the work of artists and makers with ties to Manchester, Michigan.

Manchester Ties will open on September 9th with a 1 pm reception, featuring live music and refreshments.

Earle states of the opening, “It will be a relaxed and casual affair … no prizes or pressure; just a time to share a piece or two of your work as a part of this simple beginning. We’ll have a chance to get to know one another, and dream a little about what we’d like the Art Kettle to become.”

To submit your entries, email Earle at laura@lauraearle.com or click the “Call For Entries” button on artkettle.com. The deadline for entries is August 31st.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
