The neatly lined shelves at the CRC Food Pantry are ready for clients to visit starting at 11:30 am Monday, August 20.

After weeks of being “in between” locations, as of this morning, Monday, August 20, at 11:30 am, The Community Resource Center will be open for business at its new location, 710 E. Main Street, rooms 229/231 (at Riverside Intermediate School).

There will be temporary yard signs out to help direct folks to the east side of the building to the center’s exterior door entrance and exit. Parking will be available in the back lot or on the east side drive of the school (the east drive will be used for very short term parking during pantry hours only, for safety reasons as this is where buses line up for student pickup and drop off before and after school).

New pantry hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:30 am-2:30 pm; Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9 am-2:30 pm (including during the lunch hour); and, starting in September, Fridays: 9 am-noon. Additional office hours will be available.

The CRC mailing address (PO Box 433), phone (734.428.7722), and email (manchestercrc@sbcglobal.net) all remain the same.

“It is extremely important for our visitors to know that they must come directly to the CRC entrance on the east side of the building,” said Director, Laura Seyfried. “They will not be allowed access to or through the school building at any time. They should also know it is imperative that they only park in designated parking areas and follow parking signs at all times.”

The Community Resource Center will host an open house in conjunction with the Manchester Community Schools open house, August 28 from 5-7:30 pm. All members of the community are welcome to stop in and see the new food pantry and office space at Riverside Intermediate School, 710 E Main St, Rooms 229/231. Information about programs and services available through the CRC will be available onsite.

“If people would like to bring a ‘pantry warming’ gift, we will be accepting donations,” Seyfried added. “We are most in need of non-food personal care and cleaning supplies, but anything will be welcome.”

The CRC looks forward to continuing to serve the community as it begins its 31st year with a new location.
