CRC seeks volunteer nominations

8-27-2018 Editor’s Note: Because the CRC’s website is currently not working due to phone and internet issues resulting from their recent move to a new location, banquet nomination forms are available at the CRC office, by email request, or through facebook.

The 31st annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet, hosted by the Community Resource Center (CRC), is set for Saturday, November 3. The committee is hard at work now to assure the evening will be fun as well as meaningful. The CRC hopes that residents and businesses have received the “save-the-date” postcard sent to you earlier this month. They would also like you to consider which active volunteer(s) you will nominate for recognition at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet in November.

Over the past 30 years, the Banquet has provided this forum so area organizations can put a spotlight on those who go the extra mile to make your organization and, in turn, the community successful. The CRC is proud to provide this opportunity and deliver a fun filled evening at the same time. This year’s theme is “Superhero Volunteers.” We will be recognizing Manchester’s super volunteers who have performed feats of strength and dedication for their organizations over the years.

The 2018 event, set for Saturday, November 3 at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, is priced at $50 per attendee ($45 if your registration is received by Friday, Oct. 5). If you plan to attend with a group, please note on your RSVP, so seating can be arranged to meet your needs. Cocktails and appetizers start at 6 pm, with dinner at 7 pm. Volunteer recognition will take place throughout the evening with the special award winners announced at the end of the event.

The Banquet also has a wonderful silent auction fundraiser with many new items this year in addition to some old favorites. Back by popular demand – a few select items will once again be auctioned “live” during the event. The evening will wrap up around 10 pm with the announcement of the winning auction bids.

Just follow these easy steps to nominate one or more “super” volunteers:
• Download the nomination form from the CRC web site. Include information on why this nominee is so valuable to your organization, plus any other volunteer activities, past or present, he/she may be involved in.
• Ask your nominee to make his/her dinner choice, and include this information for any other guests your organization is paying for.
• If you have more than one nominee, please fill-out a separate form for each person unless you are nominating them as a group, in which case provide information on their collective effort.
• Include a check payable to the Community Resource Center. The cost is $50 per person. Early registration incentive – save $5 per person – if you send in your payment by October 5th.
• Turn in your nomination to the CRC no later than noon on Friday, October 5, 2018 to insure your nominee is included in the selection for special awards and the program.

Thank you for participating in this nomination process. The CRC looks forward to hearing from your organization, and seeing you and your nominee(s) on November 3!
