On September 6, American 1 Credit Union which is currently building a branch on the site of the demolished Republic Bank at at 10903 M-52, presented a gift of $1,300 to the Manchester Mens Club in recognition of their generous service to the Manchester community.

John Stedman of the Mens Club stated, “The Mens Club was pleasantly surprised by a generous donation from our new Credit Union, ‘American 1’. The CEO, VP, & Branch manager personally delivered the check to our recent meeting. The proceeds came from selling the trees that were removed from the building site. THANK YOU American 1!”

Stedman explained that the money will go into the Mens Club’s general fund, which they will use to continue to support Manchester’s boys and girls soccer teams, wrestling team, football team, Cultural Art Strings, equestrian team, Young Guns trap team, middle school track, varsity cross country, girls JV and varsity basketball teams, and robotics. One of the Mens Club’s current projects is installing a green metal roof on the Chi Bro Park pavilion.

“Becoming acquainted with one of Manchester’s most recognized organizations has been wonderful,” said Laura Pryor, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for American 1. “We are excited to become more involved with additional members of the Manchester community once our new branch office is up and running.”

American 1’s new branch in Manchester is scheduled to open later this fall.
