The Ladies of Manchester Lions Club are inviting all of the women and girls of the community to stop by the Manchester Historical Society’s Kingsley Jenter House located at 302 East Main Street to help tie knotted blankets anytime between 10am and 4pm on Monday, October 8th. Materials will be provided as will snacks and drinks.

All items will be donated to Re-Member, an organization that supports the Oglala Lakota people of Pine Ridge, one of the poorest communities in North America.

If you enjoy knitting small items come and bring your own knitting supplies and yarn. You can also stop by to donate donate knitted hats, mittens, gloves, scarves. lap blankets, twin sheet sets, pillows and blankets.

Your contribution of a few hours of time will provide warmth and comfort to a small child and may save the life of an elder in the bitter winters of the Northern Plains.

If you plan to attend, or have questions, contact Peggy Allen 734-428-7034 or PeggyA7747@aol.com.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
