October Library Events

Manchester District Library launched its fall/winter Third Thursday Maker Nights series in September. “What’s Inside? Tech Take-Apart” was a smashing success (pun intended). Fun was had by all—young and young-at-heart alike—as they discovered the inner workings of VCRs, radios, computers, printers, a sewing machine, router, and even a toaster. Not a single appliance survived, but many attendees left with a souvenir or two.
In October, the library will continue the STEAM series with “Button Making.” You create the design, we’ll make it into a 2-inch button, and you’ll have a piece of mini-art to wear all year long. All materials are provided. Recommended ages: 5+ Other October events include coloring nights on Tuesdays; Story Time and Knit Nights on Wednesdays; and a sewing Make and Take on October 24.
