I am writing in response to the letter from Carol Westfall on Tim Walberg. I normally do not get involved with politics but her letter was so full of lies and half-truths I felt it my civic duty to write.

Point by point:

  • Separation of immigrant children from their families? This was started in the Obama Administration. It is the law to separate minors from adults entering the country illegally to insure that they are actually with their real relatives. It was not some terrible plot by Donald Trump to punish illegal immigrants.
  • The Mueller investigation. The Mueller Investigation is continuing and it is possible that it continue until Mueller fabricates a charge against the president. No charges or convictions have anything to do with the president.
  • Paris Climate Change Agreement. This was agreed to by Barrack Obama. It would have punished American companies for carbon emissions while ignoring emissions by other countries including China (the largest polluter and India). The agreement was not ratified by Congress. SO who cares what Congressmen Walberg opinion is on it?
  • Cyberattacks? If you are talking about the attack on the DNC that was caused by their own carelessness. If you are talking about the government systems they are protected. You just can not put sensitive information on a private server in someone’s bathroom.
  • U.S. initiated trade wars? The trade war you are referring to started in 1994 with NAFTA. Since President Trump has started re-negotiating trade agreements we have a new improved Mexican-American-Canadian Trade Pact still to be approved by congress. Also agreements one on one with other countries including the European Union. The stupid thing to do would have been to do nothing.

Going back to the Obama years is the true definition of Insanity: More People on food stamps, lower paying jobs, more regulations on business and the coal industry, dependence on Chinese Steel.

We need Tim Walberg to remain in Congress. We cannot take a step backwards.
