The organizers who worked so diligently to make sure kids in Manchester get their coveted caramel apples–a tradition started 30+ years ago by the Okey family–would like to thank the many participants and helpers who made it all possible.

The Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual event, along with huge cooperation from the Village of Manchester, Emanuel Church, the Washtenaw County Sheriff Office, and Girl Scout Troop 40673 (who washed and dried 1,200 apples on Tuesday night to prepare for Halloween); along with a host of volunteers from the Manchester District Library, Key Club, Lions Club, National Honor Society, 5 Healthy Towns, Community Bible Church, Sutton Insurance Agency, the Manchester Veterinary Clinic, Nelson Pottery, State Farm Insurance, Manchester Market, Bader & Sons, Monty & JoAnn Okey, the Cousino family, and the Kozloffs.

Photo booth was provided by Aaron Helber of Throw Yo Hands Up Entertainment.

“It takes a community to host this event and this is what a community is all about,” said Lisa Fookes, of Sutton Insurance Agency.

Thank you to all who participated!

Dr. Libby Beaudion, Kathy Dimond and Girl Scout Junior troop #40673 wash 1,200 apples in the kitchen of Emanuel Church the night before Halloween in preparation for the Chamber of Commerce handing out caramel apples at the gazebo.
