Obituary: Donald A. Scaglione
His Legacy … Donald Scaglione, age 87, of Manchester, passed away, November 5, 2018. Donald was born in Windber, PA, January 20, 1930 to Nicholas and Genevieve (Batist) Scaglione. He married the love of his life, Margaret Kluk on May 5, 1951 at St. Gabriel Church in Detroit. Donald served in the US Army in Korea from 1952-1953. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Teamsters Local #299, Manchester Masonic Lodge and Disabled American Veterans. Donald retired from Preston Trucking after 32 years of service. Donald enjoyed bowling, playing golf, hunting and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family … Donald will be missed by his children, Christopher (Katie) Scaglione, Darlene (Dan) Simmons, Douglas (Norma) Scaglione; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; siblings James (Janet) Scaglione, Lucy Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
His Farewell … Donald’s family and friends gathered 2- 8 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home: Manchester Chapel. There was a 7 pm Masonic Funeral Rite. His Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 am on Friday, November 9, 2018 with a gathering beginning at 10 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Manchester. Rev. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal served as celebrant. Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation.
