Manchester Mirror file photo from the 2016 Klager Senior Luncheon and program, which this year will be held at Riverside Intermediate School, 710 E. Main Street, beginning at 10:45 am on December 5.

The annual holiday luncheon served free to Manchester area senior citizens will be held in a different location this year due to the re-configuration of the school district buildings.

Riverside Intermediate School at 710 E. Main Street, which was put back into service this year after a one-year hiatus, will be the site of the popular event where elementary-aged students host the seniors of the community for a holiday meal, school tour, and special entertainment.

Senior citizens, please plan to arrive by 10:45 am on Wednesday, December 5 to enjoy the program and meal.

This is a wonderful opportunity for many of Manchester’s elders to see the many changes that have taken place in this building, which for 50 years served as the community’s high school and then 12 more as the middle school, to accommodate a changing student demographic.

A special date for grandparents of the Klager Elementary School students, who were previously included in the program for seniors, has also been scheduled so that no one is left out. The reservation deadline for this event, which is being held on Tuesday, November 20, has passed.
