Manchester’s Cub Scout Pack 421 will be among the volunteers on December 15th at noon to help place a wreath on every headstone at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan and say the name of the veteran. They are teaming up with Wreaths Across America, an organization that works to place wreaths on veteran’s headstones in 1,400 locations nationwide on that day.

The cub scouts need the community’s help to do it though, and are looking for wreath sponsors. For every $15, another wreath can be placed in the cemetery. Pack 421 has the goal of getting sponsors for 1,000 wreaths for the cemetery and so far, they have 41 wreaths sponsored. The Great Lakes National Cemetery has 30,000 total graves and so far has a total of 5,179 wreaths sponsored. To sponsor a wreath visit wreathsacrossamerica.org, click on “local fundraising group” under the large red “sponsor a wreath” button. In the “select group to support field” type “Cub Scout Pack 421”.
