Tickets, tickets, tickets! The Crazy Ca$h Night is all about raffles and holding just the right ticket at the right time!

For 19 years, on the first Saturday in March, the Kiwanis Club of Manchester has held the hugely popular Crazy Ca$h Night. As a successful fund-raiser, the event has poured tons of money back into the Manchester schools, library, preschools, athletic department, and many, many more local organizations

But in August, the Kiwanis  announced that due to declining volunteers available for the event, they would no longer be holding the Crazy Ca$h, and urged other community organizations to consider taking on the task of hosting Manchester’s largest annual fund-raiser.

As a result, Manchester’s largest organization–Manchester Community Schools–started turning its wheels and considering the possibilities.

“We (the district) heard that Crazy Ca$h was in danger of not running this year,” says superintendent Nick Steinmetz. “So, we decide to take it over for a couple of reasons: First, we didn’t want to see the event die in the community. Second, we wanted to alleviate some of the fundraising saturation that our school organizations have done in the past.

“We thought hosting this event would provide a great community event and relieve some of the fundraising pressure from the district.”

The 20th Crazy Ca$h Night will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 starting at 5 pm, and will again be located at the Borek-Jennings Legacy Event Center on Duncan Street.

Ticket prices remain the same at $100 per couple, which includes dinner. If you purchase your ticket during the month of December, you’ll receive a $50 holiday coupon that can be spent the night of the event on a variety of raffles. The Grand Prize is $5,000!

The format will also remain much the same. The reverse raffle, which provides the grand prize to the final ticket holder, has proven highly popular and provides a few great moments of suspense at the end of the evening. Since the event is being held off school property, bringing your own alcoholic refreshments will also be allowed.

Tickets go on sale today, Monday, December 10th, and can be purchased at Andrews Family Chiropractic, Steelgrafix, The Village Tap, and Riverside Intermediate School. Don’t forget to get your tickets early–last year, 75 percent of all ticket sales happened in December, 2017!

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
