In November Manchester’s Cub Scout Pack 421 asked the community to sponsor wreaths to be laid on grave markers at the Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. On Saturday, Cub Scouts from the pack and their family members participated in the ceremony. Angie Flint stated, “After the remembrance ceremony, our Scouts were invited to lay two wreaths on the headstones of fallen service members. While laying the wreath, they were encouraged to take a moment and pause to honor and remember each service member.” Each Scout said the fallen service member’s name out loud, and said a prayer, and/or thanked them for their service.

Flint stated, “As one of their Scout leaders and the spouse of a retired service member, I am so proud of our Scouts and am thankful for the support of their families. This was an amazing, emotional, and significant experience to be able to participate in; one I am hoping will be a tradition for many years to come.”

Flint thanks everyone who contributed for taking the time to sponsor a wreath and for their kinds words of support. She added, “You helped to make this day possible.”
