Obituary: Pete Minor
His Legacy… Peter William Minor, Age 78, of Jackson, formerly of Manchester; passed away January 17, 2019. He was born on February 17, 1940 in Manchester, Michigan to William and Bessie (Johnson) Minor. Pete married the love of his life, Darlene Ahrens, and they have been married 58 wonderful years. Pete graduated from Manchester High school in 1957. He loved playing football and his senior team was the only undefeated team on record. Pete loved that the trophy is still on display there. In his early years Pete went to barbering school in Detroit where he cut the hair of homeless people to practice. He then went on to work for Ford Motor Company in Rawsonville, retiring in 1990. After retirement, Pete kept busy with his own lawn service, employing his grandchildren. He was a very talented woodworker, making furniture for family and friends. Pete was an avid University of Michigan football and basketball fan who held tickets to all the games. He loved cars and belonged to a car club for many years. Above all his family was the most important thing and he never missed an opportunity to follow the grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. He will be missed by
all who knew and loved him.
