Manchester Community Schools working to increase communication with community
submitted by Nick Steinmetz, Superintendent, Manchester Community Schools
It is hard to believe that it is already February! It is hard to believe that it is already February! Where has the 2018-2019 school year gone? When I was hired as the superintendent of MCS, I set a goal to increase the level of communication with the community. As part of these efforts, we are in the midst of a complete website redesign, we have a strengthened our presence in numerous community organizations, utilized our electronic Remind system, and increased our level of engagement on various social media platforms. While I feel like we have made great strides with our district-wide communication, we still have not fully established open lines of communication with all of our stakeholders. As a result, we are implementing two additional elements with the help of The Manchester Mirror.
First, our three building principals and myself will be submitting weekly articles highlighting the work being done throughout the district. Some of these articles may highlight staff members, programs that has occured, or a particular groups of students. Each of these articles will link the tremendous work being done, in the MCS buildings, to our 2016-2020 strategic plan.
Second, we will be including a “Meet the Staff” section. Have you ever been in one of the school buildings and had that, “I know that person, but I can’t put my finger on their name” moments? Each week, we will highlight a building/department to introduce each of our staff members to the community. This week is our administrative team.
We look forward to sharing more and more with the community. If you do have any questions/concerns please feel free to reach out to me at nsteinmetz@mcs.k12.mi.us or (734) 428-9711 x1000. Go Dutch!
