Walberg named most effective member in Michigan congressional delegation

The Center for Effective Lawmaking, a non-partisan collaboration between Vanderbilt University and University of Virginia that rates the efficiency of lawmakers, ranked Manchester’s congressman, Tim Walberg as the most effective member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan. These rankings are calculated by the advancement of legislation from the 115th Session of Congress (2017-2018).

“Working in a bipartisan manner, we were able to pass legislation addressing the opioid epidemic and human trafficking while also taking measures to protect the Great Lakes” said Congressman Walberg. “I was proud to pass a variety of legislation. From strengthening career and technical training to increasing retirement security, we’ve been working hard to improve the lives of all Americans.”

“Congressman Walberg scored as the most effective lawmaker among all of the Representatives in the Michigan congressional delegation in the 115th Congress,” said Alan Wiseman, Co-Director, Center for Effective Lawmaking. “His success in advancing his legislative agenda in the 115th Congress is greater than one would expect for a member of the majority party, given his seniority in the House, and the fact that he didn’t hold a committee chair in that Congress.”
