Obituary: Catherine Helen Nickerson

Catherine Helen Nickerson (1924 – 2019)

Her Legacy… Catherine Helen Nickerson, Age 94, passed away April 1, 2019.  She was born on July 22, 1924 in Germfask, Michigan to John and Matilda (Kuuttanan) Lustila.  Catherine married the love of her life, William Nickerson, on September 5, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan.   Catherine loved being a homemaker always cooking and baking for her family.  Her family was her most important treasure.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  

Her Family… Catherine will be missed by her children Robert (Helen) Nickerson, Penny (Jim) Wilde, Michael (Terry) Nickerson, Phil Nickerson, and Lori (Jeff) Gauss, 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother Gerald Lustila and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, a granddaughter Sunshine Nickerson and six sisters and three brothers.

Her Farewell… Catherine’s family and friends will gather Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Manchester Chapel where her Farewell will be held at 11:00 am.  Burial following at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manchester.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester.  Please leave a message of comfort for Catherine’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign her guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
