An excited Walk to School gang started their day with Bubba (Brian Cowen) from W4Country Radio at the Manchester Township Fire Department. They also got to see fire trucks and rescue workers in their turnout gear.
The popular W4Country radio show, “Breakfast with Bubba” is making the rounds of local fire departments on its “Firehouse Friday” series, and last Friday morning was Manchester Township’s turn! The MHS Drama Club was in attendance to plug their weekend performances of Into the Woods, and perform a couple of numbers from the musical show, while the Walk to School group also joined in the fun.
Mrs. Kathy O’Mara, coordinator of the Walk to School program, was able to promote the health and fitness benefits of something as simple as walking to school one, two, or three times each week, on air! And many of the kids who walk also got the opportunity to say “Hi Mom!” on the radio.
