Please bring items to the Fellowship Hall – entering off of M52 – and following the signs.

On May 11 and 18, 2019, Sharon UMC, located on the corner of M52 and Pleasant Lake Road, will be having an annual scrap metal drive to benefit relief efforts in Haiti and the United States. Drop off times are scheduled from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon both days.

Sharon UMC scrap metal drives began in 2011 as a way to support those going on a mission trip to Haiti. Over the past seven years the scrap metal drive has now grown to do so much more!

In 2018, more than $7,000 was raised to support the following:

  • Clean water for the city of Flint, Michigan
  • Haitian Artisans for Peace, International – a ministry empowering women artisans in southwest Haiti (www.haitianartisans.com).
  • Packaging 10,000 meals for Haiti, as well as providing weekend/holiday meals for 500 school children in Lenawee County through our partnership with I92 Ministries (www.i92.org).
  • Local CROP Walk support of Manchester’s Community Resource Center.
  • The world-wide ministry and mission of The United Methodist Church.

Sharon United Methodist Church was founded in 1874. The sanctuary was built on the corner of M52 and Pleasant Lake in 1876. The fellowship hall was completed in 2009.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
