Letter to the Editor: Mail delivery service not satisfactory
May 2, 2019
To the Editor
What has changed with our Post Office? We have lived at the same address for over 37 years, have NEVER received mail here because we have a Post Office Box. As hard as we try, there has always been mail that came addressed to us at our physical address BUT we got it.
Now, mail is being returned to senders if the PO Box # is not on it. The ironic part is that a very important piece of mail was returned, but it was addressed with my name, next line the PO Box #, next line physical address and then last line with city, state and zip code. It makes no sense to me and I gather a lot of others too as to why this is happening. A route carrier knows who he/she delivers to, so what is going on?
I am tired of hearing that people are new or temps. This is a poor excuse. I recently saw two pieces of mail with yellow stickers on them. One said “No mail receptacle” and the other “no such street #” both of which were wrong.
Something needs to change.
