Attention, Manchester! We need your recipes!

Do you have a tried and true recipe passed down through your family that you would love to share with other Manchester residents? If so, we need you!

The Manchester Area Historical Society is hoping to assemble a cookbook and historical journal of recipes with a link to our beloved village. Our vision is to include recipes that have been passed down through the families that have inhabited the area through generations, famous “town” recipes (think Market Chicken, Chicken Broil, fish fries, sauerkraut suppers, ice cream socials, etc.) and newer recipes brought here by recent settlers (you know, 5 – 60 years ago!)

In an attempt to make our journal unique, we would love the story that goes along with your recipe. Be it a sentence or a page long, we want to hear it and include it in our journal.

Please take the time to consider and reply to our request. We would really like to make this cookbook an accurate representation of our heritage and a treasured keepsake for those who purchase or are gifted with it.

Your recipes can be sent by email to: Linn Wilson linn@wolflakelanding.com, Pat Sahakian psahakian@gmail.com, or Liz Polk Lizpolk1@gmail.com; or by mail to: MAHS, PO Box 56, Manchester, MI 48158.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
