Road work this week: MDOT & WCRC working in Manchester
Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is planning to place an asphalt overlay on M-52 from US 12, just south of the Washtenaw/Lenawee County line, to Austin Road, beginning the week of May 20.
Aaron Jenkins, Communications Representative for MDOT, said that there will be a single-course hot mixed asphalt overlay on 5.23 miles of highway, which will include intermittent pavement repairs and new pavement markings.
Work will be scheduled between 9 am and 8 pm daily and has a final completion date scheduled for June 27.
Jenkins indicated that only one (1) traffic regulation operation along M-52 is permitted at a time, meaning that there will only be one potential flag stop at any given time during construction hours.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission also has several projects in our area this week.
There will be intermittent lane closures on Ernst Road between Bethel Church Road and Reno Road in Freedom Township through Thursday, May 16 for gravel resurfacing.
In Manchester Township, Logan Road between the township line and M-52 will continue to see intermittent lane closures as the county works on drainage improvement through Wednesday, May 15.
In Sharon Township, in addition to the ongoing closure of Sharon Valley Road at the bridge between Prospect Hill Road and Lamb Roads, Below Road will have intermittent lane closures between Prospect Hill Road and Jacob Road for drainage improvements through Thursday, May 16.
