At the May 20 Village Council meeting, DPW supervisor Brent Jones made a recommendation for asphalt overlay work on five streets within the village this summer.

Work is scheduled to be complete before the beginning of the school year in September.

The streets that will receive new overlay include South Macomb, from Territorial to Wager; West Duncan, from Macomb to Clinton; East Vernon, from Beaufort to Torrey; Adrian, from Duncan to Furnace; and Granger, from Summit to Furnace.

The total cost for the paving work will be $140,582.80, the low bid by K&B Asphalt of Adrian, which has done work for the village in the past. Jones stated, “With past success and quality of work, I am recommending K&B Asphalt.” The price per square foot will be $1.05.

K&B also received the bid award for street patching throughout the village this summer.
