The PBS program Under the Radar: Michigan will feature the Manchester Chicken Broil in its June 27 program.

Two years ago, the popular PBS television program “Under the Radar: Michigan” featuring the people, places, and things that make Michigan such a great place, visited the famous Manchester Chicken Broil.

A short video on the Chicken Broil Facebook page, taken on July 20, 2017 during the crew’s visit shows host Tom Daldin trying to offer Matt Little $100, then up to $500, for the famed secret coleslaw dressing recipe. By the end of the 12-second video, the recipe still hadn’t been sold. We suspect it won’t be sold, any time soon.

It was the hope of co-Chair Michael Tindall to have the crew, including Daldin, back to Manchester for another delicious chicken dinner this year, but alas, that was not to be. However, Tindall received word last week that the next best thing is about to happen … the show will be airing the film of their visit from 2017 on Thursday, June 27 at 8:30 pm, on PBS Channel 56!

“We were hoping to have them back, but this is their decision,” Tindall said. “But everyone in Manchester should be sure to tune in on June 27 at 8:30 pm to see our Chicken Broil featured on public TV!”

If you can’t tune in on the 27th, check the Under the Radar website for recent episodes after it has aired.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
