Magician Jeff Wawrzaszek from A2 Magic entertained a room-full Friday afternoon to start off Manchester District Library’s Summer Reading Program.

Manchester District Library’s Summer Reading Program started off with button-making, cookies, lemonade, and a magic show Friday afternoon. Kids of all ages, teens, and adults were able to sign up for the program which will run 6 weeks. Participants will read (or have read to them) specified amounts each week based on age and will win small prizes and be entered into drawings for larger prizes at the end of the summer.

Missed the kick-off event? Don’t worry, you can still stop by the front desk of the library, located at 912 City Road, to sign up. You do not need a library card or to live in the district to participate. The program, themed “a Universe of Stories,” will end with a special drawing for those who complete their weeks of reading and a special event for everyone!

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
