On Sunday, August 11 between 12pm- 4pm, SASHA Farm Animal Sanctuary, located at 17901 Mahrle Rd. in Manchester will be holding their 2019 Humane Fair. Tickets which include lunch are available on their website www.sashafarm.org or at the door. Tickets for adults and children ages 11 and older are $30. Tickets for children ages 6-10 are $15. Tickets for children ages 5 and younger are free. If anyone in your group needs assistance, please contact us at info@sashafarm.org and we will do our very best to accommodate you! This is a rain or shine event.

This annual, family-friendly event offers their supporters the opportunity to connect with local animal advocacy groups, meet SASHA Farm animal residents on guided tours, and enjoy a delicious, vegan buffet lunch under the tent on the beautiful SASHA Farm grounds, catered by local business The Movable Feast Catering. They’ll also include a vegan bake sale and will be selling SASHA Farm merchandise, including some brand new shirts and hoodies!

Some of the animal advocacy groups who will be tabling include Attorneys for Animals, Bird Center of Washtenaw County, Challenge 22, Humane Society of Huron Valley, The Humane Society of the United States, Simply Vegan Foods, and VegMichig.

This year there will be a question and answer session by SASHA’s founders Dorothy Davies and Monte Jackson. You will also hear inspiring presentations by SASHA staff member Brece Clark and by Barbra White of Body Mind Spirit Radio. Join Bhima, the Gyr ox, the Jersey Five, Daisy Belle the cow, June Carter Cash the pig, Sheldon the sheep, Suzy the lamb, Norman the donkey and so many others who are just waiting to see you on August11th.

SASHA Farm, located here in Manchester, is the Midwest’s largest farmed animal sanctuary with over 300 animal residents including cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, horses, and other animals. Founded by Manchester residents Dorothy Davies and Monte Jackson, SASHA Farm started rescuing animals in the 80’s, and became a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2001. SASHA provides lifetime care to farmed animals formerly destined for slaughter or who were abused, neglected, abandoned, or no longer able to be cared for.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
