Last Gazebo Concert of the season!
The final Gazebo Concert of 2019 will be a special event for Manchester music lovers.
The Brockman Brass will be featured on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm at the Wurster Park Gazebo. The quintet features Robert Albritton on Tuba, Clare Bowman on French Horn, Andrew Custer on Trombone, and Katie Sucha and Jared Throneberry on Trumpet. Albritton was Throneberry’s band director when he was a student, and Sucha is one of Throneberry’s former band students during his 20+ year tenure at Manchester Community Schools.
In addition, local singer/songwriter Kayla Kendall, a Manchester native and currently a student at Eastern Michigan University majoring in music therapy, will also perform during the first set of the evening. So there’s plenty of local connection to this week’s concert!
Have you been to a Gazebo Concert yet this season? There’s still time! Everyone is welcome and the concerts are FREE (although donations are gratefully accepted by passing the basket at intermission). Bring a chair or a blanket; enjoy watching the sun set over the gazebo while you listen to some great music from talented Manchester folks (and a few others besides).
Your donations at intermission or online are appreciated by not only the Gazebo Concert committee, but by Riverfolk Music & Arts in general, as the local support helps the organization obtain grants which require matching funds. Donations provide 30-50% of our fees given to performers; the rest is provided by sponsors and grants. The Riverfolk organization and the Gazebo Concert committee is entirely composed of volunteers, which keeps expenses to a minimum. All donations are invested back into programming for the Gazebo Concert Series, along with Riverfolk’s other programs–the Blacksmith Shop Concert Series, Cultural Art Strings, and Dance Manchester series.
Thank you for your support of the 30th anniversary season of Gazebo Concerts!
