Tonight’s meeting to discuss cityhood questions with village residents will be held at 7 pm in the Village Council chambers on the lower level.

At tonight’s Village Council meeting, held at 7 pm in the Council chambers on the lower level at 912 City Road, there will be a specific time allotted for village residents to ask questions of the Council about the process of becoming a city.

Village residents have received post cards inviting them to this meeting, as the Council is eager to answer residents’ questions, respond to their concerns, and dispel rumors that may have circulated about this process.

While the Citizens Committee has presented its recommendations to Council, that cityhood is an option that should be pursued, there is now a due diligence period and resident input is an important part of this process.

All village residents with an interest in participating, are encouraged to attend tonight’s meeting. An update will be published in Wednesday’s print edition of the Mirror.
