Athletic Wall of Fame adds new inductees
New members appearing on the Manchester High School Athletic Wall of Fame were inducted on Thursday night with a special pre-game ceremony and a half-time presentation during the first home football game vs. Clinton.
Paul Schulte (see related article), Garry Eversole, and the 1991 and 1992 MHS football teams were honored in this year’s induction ceremony.
Eversole, who graduated from Manchester High School with the Class of 1976, was the Volunteer honoree for the 2019 season. He started his volunteerism by helping out at the middle school level when his brother, Bill, started playing football.
“Garry was always on the sideline taking care of broken snaps on helmets, shoulder pad laces or clips, and any other problems that might happen,” said Wes Gall, former coach and Athletic Director. “He moved up to the high school and got more involved–getting equipment to the field at home and loaded in the truck for the away games.
“For 24 years, Garry roamed the sideline helping coaches and players solve any problem that came up during a game,” Gall continued. “After the game was over, he got the equipment back on the truck then to the school. Thank you, Garry, for your dedication to Manchester Football.”
