Cristie Warren earns 4-H Excellence in Agriculture Award

Cristie Warren receives her award from Washtenaw County Farm Bureau president Joe Packard.

The 4-H Excellence in Agriculture Award recognizes outstanding achievements of county 4-H volunteers or groups that have exhibited excellence in 4-H youth education and leadership development. Specifically, project areas of beef cattle, dairy cattle, goats, horses, horticulture, poultry, rabbits, sheep, swine, and veterinary science.

Warren has had a large impact on youth and their families in Washtenaw Country. She is the 4-H Youth Show Poultry Superintendent. She has had many positive impacts on the county 4-H poultry program. For example, Warren and her daughter developed a new mentoring program for small animal projects, and she organizes the 4-H Poultry Community Service Project as well.

Warren also has become involved in teaching embryology through the experience of hatching eggs. She travels to schools and libraries to teach elementary students about egg hatching and poultry in general.

In addition, She is a member of the state-wide Michigan State 4-H Poultry Committee. At the county level she volunteers as part of the 4-H Small Animal Committee, 4-H Advisory Council, and 4-H Youth Show Leadership Team.
