Klager walkers in last year’s Walk to School program are ready to participate again this year in National Walk to School Day, Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The walk to school group is gaining new walkers (and bike riders) each day. With a five-day per week program, there is a variety of opportunities for kids–and adults–to get healthier by adding more activity to your week!

This Wednesday, is a very special milestone day as it is National Walk to School Day. This event is celebrated annually on the first Wednesday of October, and is growing in popularity not only in Manchester, but across the country. Coordinator Kathy O’Mara is trying to get as many walkers involved as possible this year, and has invited village and school representatives to participate, along with business people, clergy, and of course parents and friends. She would love to set a new record of participants for 2019.

This year’s theme is “Walk on the Wild Side,” so feel free to go ahead and get a little wild with your clothing or accessories. The more creative you get, the more fun everyone will have!

Meeting places are 7:30 am at Wurster Park in front of the Gazebo, and 7:45 am at Chi-Bro Park. Walkers depart for Riverside promptly at 7:45 and for Klager at 7:50 am. Join us!

Riverside Intermediate School walkers and bike riders gather in front of the rock before heading in to school.
