Manchester Township holding Watkins Lake Trail Info Session
Three years ago, when Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve was preparing to open to the public, a trail running from Watkins Lake along a disused rail bed to the edge of the Village of Manchester was proposed. A year later, using a Connecting Communities grant from Washtenaw County, a feasibility study was conducted.
Working with Carlisle/Wortman, the township is moving ahead with the next step and holding an information session on the proposed trail on Thursday, October 10 from 6pm to 8pm, at the Manchester Township Hall located at 275 Macomb Street. A short presentation will take place at 6pm followed by an open question and answer session. The presentation will cover the potential trail alignment, grant alternatives, and property owner options.
