Gallons of fun at a prior co-op preschool Chili Cook-off!

As an addition to the Christmas in the Village celebration, the Manchester Co-Op Preschool will hold its traditional Chili Cook-off on December 7th at St. Mary’s Parish Center at 110 Madison Street (behind the Marathon gas station). Doors open to the public at 5 pm. There will also be a silent and live auction.

“We have a number of great prizes, including a hotel room and a handmade wooden play barn,” said Kristie Taylor, the co-op’s fundraising chair. “And more donations are coming in every day!”

Come and taste some of Manchester’s best chili, with free entry and just $5 for five tickets (1 ticket per cup of chili), which will help determine the People’s Choice award!

The event is open to the public and is not limited to preschool families. Everyone is welcome to bring their own beverage.

Teams must fill out an entry form with a $25 check, payable to the Manchester Co-Op Preschool, to reserve a spot. There are a limited number of tables available, with just a few left at press time. Get your name in early! Each team is responsible to provide cooking equipment to make at least two gallons of chili (an electric roaster is suggested); utensils, all ingredients, set up and clean up. Tables, electrical outlets, and serving bowls and spoons will be provided. Entry forms are available from Taylor by emailing her at kmlitwin08@aol.com.

Chili will be judged on aroma, texture, heat preference, flavor, and presentation. The grand prize of $100 and the People’s Choice award prize of $75 will be announced at the end of the evening.

Be sure and come up, fill your bowls, and stay for the silent and live auctions. All adults are welcome to attend!

All proceeds will benefit the Manchester Cooperative Preschool.
